Saturday, February 21, 2009 The Half-Day

One of the most exciting days for CityStep, the Half-Day is the first time that the entire CityStep Company—West Philadelphia and Penn students alike—will come together. We will work hard and play hard as we rehearse for the May show.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 Battle of the Dance

Our most exciting fundraiser of the year! Battle of the Dance allows various groups of Penn students to battle it out on stage while helping to raise money for our spring show. This event not only unites the Producer and Teacher boards but also engages the entire Penn student body to benefit the CityStep program. So get your friends together and start choreographing! Or just come and cheer! We hope you can make it!

Saturday, April 4, 2009 The All-Day

Like the Half-Day, the All-Day rehearsal unites the entire CityStep Company. The students are actively engaged in finishing their dances, helping to design costume and lighting concepts while also getting to know the other CityStep students and teachers. The All-Day is also a great opportunity for the students to express themselves as each class performs their show piece for the Company.

Friday, May 1, 2009 and Sunday, May 3, 2009 The 5th Annual CityStep Show!

You are invited to join us at University of Pennsylvania's Iron Gate Theatre for the annual CityStep Show, a completely original dance-theater performance created and performed by West Philadelphia youth and Penn undergraduates. The culmination of a year-long collaboration, the original work showcases the creativity and dedication of each class. With entirely original choreography, and as many as one hundred people on stage at once, the show is one of the most inspiring and exciting theatrical pieces around. Learn more about the show.
